Franziska Stünkel – »COEXIST«

For ten years, the internationally awarded film director and photo artist Franziska Stünkel has been travelling with her Leica camera through Asia, Africa, Europe and America in search of natural reflections on shop window glass, which in their condensation tell of the coexistence of human life.
From 05.02.2020, the Leica Gallery Wetzlar will be showing new motifs from the America cycle, which were created on various journeys along the East and West Coast of the USA.

The new catalogue shows scenes from Franziska Stünkel´s travels through Asia, Africa, Europe and America over the past ten years. The artist is always on the lookout for natural reflections on reflective surfaces and completely avoids digital post-processing of her photographs. The result is an extensive view of the highly important question of coexistence in our time, completed by texts by renowned authors and scientists from various backgrounds: artificial intelligence, biology, psychology, happiness research, lingustics, culture and fear research.
