Szilard Huszank // Kunstverein Ludwigsburg 2023 // Where has Alice gone?
With his fictional landscape compositions, the Hungarian-German artist Szilard Huszank takes us to sceneries that are apparently idyllic and full of longing. Starting from a large repertoire of classical motifs, he transforms them into a play of colors and surfaces via his individual artistic language. The virtuosically designed works, which combine technical skill with content, are being shown for the first time at the Kunstverein Ludwigsburg.

Nothing influences us as much as the family. We associate it with love, support, trust – but also pain, disappointment and effort. Today, the definition of family is no longer clear: In addition to the typical middle-class family, a wide variety of forms of cohabitation are becoming established.
What role does family background play in one’s own life concept? What influence do money, power and social role models have on family life? Can love and care also be constricting? What stories and secrets shape our relationship with relatives or friends?
The group show “doing family” focuses on the influences and challenges that characterize family life.
